I like how they didn't even bother uploading until a DVD quality was available.. Just shows how good this is, because low quality won't do it justice.

Absolutely loved it.. edge of seat , a few tears and much sadness knowing what took place on that beach- told from a new perspective and very well executed 10/10

I didn't dislike this film but I also don't get the hype around it. People made it seem like the greatest war film of all-time when personally I wouldn't even put it in the top 10.

Nolan out did himself with this one.... using minimal dialogue, excellent cinematography and music perfectly to create an emotional masterpiece. There's a reason this is the highest grossing WWII film of all time. Bravo!

Greatly hyped about seeing this one, but was let down, even the soundtrack failed to deliver as one hoped.

I was really looking forward to this film as well. But I was underwhelmed. I took me a few moments to realise that the director was showing the same action from the different points of view of the various characters, which only resulted in me initially thinking the movie was disjointed, repetitive, and that they really frelled up the continuity. Once I made that connection it was too late. Perhaps a second viewing would be in order. But the most egregious thing was the score. It was unrelenting. And not in a good, atmospheric, tension building kind of way. But in a why won't they just let us hear the ambient sounds of the scene, dear god can it just be muted kind of way. It pulled me right out of the movie. Which wasn't that difficult as I had never become truly submerged in the movie. Was it, as some have pointed out, a lack of enemy presence or was it because I already knew the outcome? I have a good imagination and am appreciative of directors who let me use it, let me fill in the blanks as it were. But I couldn't get invested. Neither the actors nor the director nor the cinematography sold me on the hopeless desolation and impending doom awaiting them as they were driven by the German meat grinder to the beach to be corralled against the sea, leaving them to the mercy of the wholesale slaughter raining down from the sky. Not even the soldier, who in his despair, chucked his ruck and began to swim. And neither did they really sell me on the bravery and heroics of the civilians who persevered to pull off such a Herculean task despite great peril. In short, it was muddled, disjointed, and disappointing.

If you like war movies you will love this---period! All the better that it is a true story and not another CGI superhero animated crapfest.

I'm amazed to read so many comments about this movie being 'terrible' and 'boring'. I must of watched a different movie entirely! Had me gripped from start to finish, some of the scenes gave me goosebumps. More of a tale of survival than your standard war movie, there's no pretty speeches or flag waving patriotism here. The minimal dialogue and lack of 'characters' drew me more into the story. Amazing visuals and I loved the soundtrack - my only regret is that I did not go to see this at the cinema. I'm off now for a mug of tea and a jam sandwich...

I waited and waited for this, but what a disappointment. In the end I feel like I've watched a slide show and not a major movie. There isn't any real start to the story and then its just a jumble scenes with some of the same people over and over. You never really feel any connection to any of them, then its over just as fast as it "STARTED". Honestly I'd have to give this a 3/10 anything more would be wrong. This could have been something great instead of the pile.

It's hard to imagine the stark terror that these men and women went through, this film conveys an undercurrent of that feeling, without eliciting a need to look away from the screen, almost from the very beginning to the very end. The heroism that the people of Britain exhibited during such a dark period in their history was incredible. Pay no attention to the action thriller adrenaline junkie's that didn't think this movie was exciting enough, this film kept me engaged throughout. If you like historically accurate War II films and want to feel the emotions of those that lived it, and if you can live without a bunch of gore, try this one. You won't regret spending a few hours on Dunkirk.

Very disappointed by what seems to be a rushed attempt of reconstructing the pivotal setbacks in the evacuation of the British and French forces trapped in the beaches of Dunkirk, during WW2 in 1940.The story is riddled with so many factual, geographical and historical mistakes I wouldn't know where to start(check the goofs section on IMDB).The editing is far too inaccurate to the point of conflicting with time frames, impossible technical developments and modern day locations. The soundtrack is a cacophonic disturbing mess, the acting like still life...surely this is Nolan's worst movie to date, the subject deserving a far better approach.....4/10.

Despite what the comments say, this is a really fantastic film. I see a lot of people expecting blood, guts, and action from this, but I think it was intentional to leave that out for the most part. There is plenty of death and danger, but this take on WW2 manages to take the hollywood aspect of pure action and desensitization away. If you want action, shallow characters, and an exaggerated plot, go watch the fifteenth avengers movie. If you want a take on WW2 that leaves out the over-dramatized action and focuses on the bleak, devastating reality, you will absolutely enjoy this film.

Man, I was hanging out to see this movie, specially by Nolan, but what a let down, sorry to say. There are much better Dunkirk movies out there. I read only a few comments, but had anyone else noticed how new everything looked? Honestly, the warships were spotless, the trawlers were spotless and the bloody spitfires absolutely well kept and they are in war. Its like it all came out of the museum for the set, and the diggers, how nicely pressed and neat all their uniforms looked. The diggers didn't even look exhausted. This could have been so much better for the type of budget they had, top notch cast, but thats nothing without attention to detail. This is a one time watch only, oh man was a disappointment. Cheers uploaders

im from Dover, great to see it shine in this movie, and all the civilians and merchants who came to the aid of the British and French soldiers. true heroes Powerful movie, minimal dialogue, perfect cinematography and music 10/10

Very boring, emotionally detached film, like reading a laundry list. The soundtrack overpowers the dialogue and shoves the story into melodrama. A great disservice to a highly emotional story full of civilian courage born of a history of war losses. 0/5

I love all War Movies (and Westerns), and I've seen almost ALL of them (most old B&W films aside). WWII movies are a genre (within a genre) of War Movies. This one stands out among the best of WWII Movies. It's riveting and outstanding! Great film!!
